Welcome to Our Adoption Blog

We're looking for you...are you looking for us?

Thank you for visiting our adoption blog. If you are pregnant and considering adoption, please take some time to get to know us.

We can't wait to adopt another child into our family. The joy of adoption came to us with our son, Dawson, and now we pray for that joy to come again. We have a completed home study for the USA (this means we are available for placement immediately) and hope to find a baby whose birth parent(s) know that we are the right match for them. We are excited to share our family with you and would love to get to know you better.

Our Letter to Birth Parents

Dear Birth Parent,

Thank you for taking a moment to learn about our family. We pray you’ll be blessed as you seek the best for you and your baby and admire you for considering adoption.

We thoroughly enjoy being together as a family; it’s our number 1 priority and brings us the most happiness. The joy of family has new meaning now that we get to share it with our son Dawson, who joined us through adoption in 2007. After numerous unsuccessful fertility treatments, we came to the realization that we would not have a baby in the traditional way. Although this was a difficult time, we realized the Lord had other means for us to achieve our goal of having a family. We love being a family and honor the responsibility of being a good mother and father. We are grateful for the opportunity and blessing of adoption and want more then anything to continue to grow our family through adoption.

We met in college at a dance our church was hosting and a year later we were married in Seattle, Washington. Over the years we’ve committed ourselves to a number of worthwhile affairs including church, graduating from college, work, our health and keeping fit. Even though we’re active and continually looking for new adventures and challenges, we’ve learned over the years that it doesn’t matter what we’re doing as long as we’re doing it as a family. We look forward to traveling as a family and learning and seeing together what the world has to offer.

Julie’s thoughts about David

David is a fun loving and down-to-earth person. He is a great husband and loving father and provides for our family in such a way that I can be with our son every minute of the day. David has an accounting degree and is currently an Audit Manager but does not have the stereotypical accountant’s personality. In fact, outside of work you probably wouldn’t be able to guess his profession.

I love that he can find joy in nearly everything he does and has the ability to have a positive outlook no matter what the situation. When I met David, his mom said he had a tender heart; he certainly does. It’s the little things that I see him do that help me realize how lucky I am.

David’s hobbies include riding his dirt bike, writing and producing music in his home studio, photography, and playing and watching sports. He enjoys sharing his hobbies with Dawson and takes pride in seeing him do things for the first time.

David is an amazing dad and treasures his role as a father. He doesn’t hesitate to do all the dirty work that comes with kids. I love to watch Dawson get so excited every time he walks in the door. It’s adorable to see the love they have for each other and the joy it brings both of them when they are together. Sometimes he can be like a little kid in a grown up body, no wonder Dawson loves him so much.

David is hard working and plays just as hard and he really believes in exposing our children to as many things as possible to help them discover their own talents and gifts. David is a dedicated and devoted husband and father.

David’s thoughts about Julie

Julie has always wanted to be a mom and loves every minute of it. She’s a wonderful mother and wife and I’m not surprised because she gives 110 percent to everything she does. She is creative and organized and loves to cook or sew just as much as she loves to organize a closet. She enjoys being around others, and others enjoy being around her just as much. She brings out the best in me and makes me want to be a better person. I have achieved far more in the time I have known her than I ever could have in a lifetime without her.

In addition to being a wonderful mother and wife, she is musically and athletically inclined. She grew up playing the piano and flute and played softball for her high school. She played tennis competitively prior to adopting Dawson and always puts family first and in doing so sacrifices time that she could be doing something for herself… she wouldn't want it any other way.

When Julie was eight years old her father passed away and her mom was left to raise five children on her own. Because she was the oldest girl and always wanted to help her mom, she grew up fairly fast. Wanting the security to provide for our family if necessary, she completed her bachelor’s degree in Business and had a successful career, but knows the impact that a stay at home mother can have on raising a child. She is driven in everything she does and is a wonderful wife who will do anything for me. She is truly anchored to what she believes in and won’t be persuaded by society’s definition of success. Julie is the sweetest most compassionate person I know.

Dawson

Dawson is our energetic three year old son that we adopted at birth. He made us a family and the love we have for him and the joy he brings to our home is immeasurable. Dawson's adoption is open; we exchange photos and letters with his wonderful birthmother and feel this can bring peace to both of their lives. Dawson gets excited to help with everything; cooking, cleaning and even fixing a dirt bike. He has a magnetic personality and loves to smile and make silly faces. He loves babies and always wants to give them hugs. Although he has been the center of our lives, we know we have so much more love to give.

Our hope and prayer for you is that you will have the strength and peace to know what is right for you and your baby. We may not know you, but we think of you often as you make these important decisions. Your child will always know that they are twice as loved because of the unselfish decision you made. We hope that you will have a greater sense of who our family is as you learn more about us. Thank you for considering us!

With lots of love,
 David, Julie and Dawson
